I see 4 .jpgs on that page. I was wondering who *can* see the images—
  • cRiPpLe_rOoStEr: comments on the cars but doesn't say otherwise.
  • NeilBlanchard: saw them OK, no technical info
  • order99: got a good result with Mac OSX 10.3.9 Camino and Flash8
  • EchoTech: OK with Ubuntu/Firefox

Another curious part is what Cd reported
Quote:
when i originally posted the images on my mac, they showed up fine in Safari for the first two or so times that i visited the page.
They then started showing up as blue icons.

The site hosting the images in post 1 is likely blocking them from being live-linked in a page that's not on their server. It's not a browser or vBulletin issue.

Does Ecomodder block hotlinking ?

I tried to link from Ecomodder and it blocks it, but oddly enough only recently.

It works sometimes , other times not.

All buggered up ?
HTML will be a great, solid foundation - when it is finished. CSS, less so.

I thought that but I've posted them into a test area on another forum and they appeared. Even went to another PC and it still worked. Just tried from the office PC (different location) and it is all working.

Do you have some kind of add in maybe one of those ones that sneaks in with something else - an advert one or something ?

My dad had one recently which would scoop up images and would replace any advert ones with ones from it's own servers. When the servers didn't respond in time he got image failures such as question marks or broken image link icons.

This guy covers them regularly, some are really scary.
