ahh, the pontiac 151(2.5l)(77-93); heart of the pontiac fiero, and various other gm cars and trucks.
a mutant designed to replace the vega all aluminum 2.3l sohc engine because the motoring public didn't know how to care for aluminum engines, and faulty cylinder bore coatings.
the original iron duke used most of the stove bolt 153(60-70)(gm was still making it as a marine engine up until the 90's) parts except for rods and pistons(thanks pontiac 301 for the donation of parts) along with a modified 3.0"(vs 3.25") crank; when gm(79-80) decided crossflow heads were better that's when the 80's version of the iron duke was started.
then came the new block and metric(fwd) bolt pattern; pretty much the only thing that's the same through out the years is the rocker ratio.
hp ranged from 80-120.
