Mods to do on a junkyard car?

Hello,
Were getting rid of a 20yr old toyota aka zombie. Its engine is perfectly healthy, but being from a $1 a gallon era it only gets 18/22mpg. Since were getting rid of it I would like to know/get suggestions on mods that you would not try on a car that has any decent value or were afraid to do.
SO there ya go roam free.

I think the first one will be going alternator less. Main belt on a 5sfe 2.2L only drives AC/Alt. THere's a seprate for PS, then WP is TB driven.

Go nuts on the suggestions and I'll try to document as we go.

Encapsulate the engine in spray foam for insulation and see if it overheats.

Drive it off a cliff on fire.

Else make a 'can-opener convertible'. Or bare-metal it:

are you saying its rated for 18/22, or that is what you usually get from it? the AWD turbo 2.0 celica is the only one i can find with that low of a rating--> 17/22, i would be more curious about why it is doing poorly and restoring it the the original mpg
if it is in good running order, i would think that it would sell much better unmolested

Guys concentrate! ECO mods. And 2000MC, its a inefficient 2.2L and it has cali emissions. Its rated about 18/22 the automatic 4sp. 170K all city driving. That's what its rated and that's what it usually gets. Yes, it got 24mpg on that last 1/2 a tank, but that was a very specific highway section and time (non traffic time 10am).

Already got psi up to 40. spec is 34/32. And it goes down to 25 before anyone notices or does anything about it.

About value. It has none. I can see the factory primer. Interior is faded, rip in carpet, blown shocks, ect.

"Current Mods: Masking tape grill block acting as thermostat."

What do you mean by this? Is the thermostat stuck open or is this just a grill block?

Inflate the tires to 100 psi.

Weight savings is all I can think of that would be free.

Go extreme take out all the glass. Take off the exhaust. Cut holes in the floor. Take off the trunk lid make a new one from cardboard.
