No, the clips will flex in and out, the cap don't rotate in relation to the wheel. Pull them off after a while and you will see scratches that go straight in and out.

The Dzus-fastener moon caps can be purchased from Moon Eyes. The fastening brackets need to be welded on though, so few people other than racers use them.

Has anyone here ever tested out "mud plugs"? I found them a while ago and like the idea but not sure how well they work in practice. I'm wondering mostly about balance being affected by the adjustment mechanism. But I guess if you have them balance the wheel and tire with the ring in place, it should all balance out properly.

I haven't tried them, but you could put the clamp opposite the valve stem to balance against it.

I remember the expanding ring part, but not that it uses 4 Dzus fastners. You could clamp the ring in place and run a bead of adhesive around it.
