I whole-heartedly agree that drafting is more dangerous.
I got caught accidentally drafting awhile back (Daily Drive March 2008)
I know it saves fuel, but, I want to get home in one piece.
That's my 11.5 cents (adjusted for recession)

A couple of years ago I was following a semi some distance back and had another car right behind me.
The semi went over a metal box about 8 inches or so tall and since I was some distance back I switched lanes and went around the same box.
The driver behind me being so close to me didn't see it and of course slammed right into it.
Very spectacular with lots of sparks and bits of car flying here and there ans surely some damage to the car as well.
