Hey all. Been lurking here a while, but decided to jump in. I drive a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3 and a 1994 Ford Bronco. The Mazda is the DD, and gets about 27 mpg mixed highway/street. After 90k+ miles, mileage dropped to around 22-23 mixed a due to a slipping clutch. Clutch still slips, but a recent tune-up and some aero mods have brought the mpgs back up some.
Here's the list of basic mods to get back some of my MPGs:
- fresh iridium plugs
- aired up tires to 50 psi
- homemade lower grille and fog light block off
- 3 inch homemade front air dam
- more to come . . . I'm pushing my luck with the missus - making her car look too "trashy". Ha!
Then again, she's the one killing my MPG average!
Anyway, it's good to be aboard.
