No, I actually decided to not install them. I'm current trying to sell them actually.

The lowering of a car for FE is a funny one at least for me. I lowered my now dead Sentra for a short spell. It rendered me, depending on day and driving style, at best two mpg increase. The downfall, I had to take an alternate route to my house that was a mile and a half longer to avoid the speed bump I could no longer go over. I took some lawn edging one day and made a scraper blade (literally, I'd hit a small bump on the road and hear it scraping the pavement), and found out how much sitting that low blows. It is something each person needs to weigh, but for me it didn't pan out. As far as the fluctuations in gas, I am glad you got that problem figured out. Another issue that can cause that is gas stations. All gas claims to be the same, but my experience is that there are irregularities in gas. My car would average a total tank of 535~ miles, but there was one station that would get me 560~. I paid the two cents extra and filled up there frequently.

I once went back to a gas station (here is the reason for fuel logs) and requested the difference in how fast their gas burned back. I had fueled there once in a while out of necessity only. I found that on this stations gas, my car would only get 350 to the tank. I showed this to the owner to which he said I made everything up and threatened to call the cops on me. Needless to say, I no longer buy gas there. But it is something to bear in mind. Not all gas is created equal. Have fun ecomodding and remember to make sure the expense of a mod will render you a profit.

in the 70s my friend got a new bug and bragged about the mileage, so much that we use to add gas one gallon every day or so, he was amazed at how good the mileage was 70-80mpg! when he took it in for his first checkup we stopped. I think he took it back to the dealer 4-5 times complaining that they had ruined the economy. I dont remember if he ever found out we had added the fuel. young men working swing shift are hard on a fella.

Its the same way here instead of buying from a big gas company i buy from the smaller local gas station that i trust and has a higher grade gas not octane but grade. All of my cars get better mpgs and tend to run a lot easier then on the big wigs gas
