My Accord Caught fire last night
Nothing to do with Ecomodding but last night I was driving down the road and the car went all wacko, i though the engine blew, and so I pulled over, noticed smoke from under the hood so I popped it and my engine was on fire O.o
Havent figured out why it caught fire yet but I have full coverage insurance so hopefully they will cover it

ive heard of that being an issue with accords, but I never have heard why.
its ones of the reasons I wanted to get rid of my 96 accord so badly, every time I drove it I felt like it was just a matter of time before something major happened.

That happened to me too 1987 accord. amazing how fast it goes up and it had a full tank of gas!, kaboom! as the tires popped. In minutes just a rusted hull left.

I'd of got out, taken of my shirt spinning it around and then danced by the burning car like an injun. Best way to deal with something crazy is just do something crazier.

Most likely a torn fuel line, torn injector o-ring, or a fuel leak somewhere. That's my guess. Glad you are ok.

Saw this happen once to a Ford pickup. I actually jumped out and hosed it down with my fire extinguisher. The truck was just parked there with no keys in it or anything. The old man who owned the truck said he just happened to be looking outside when he noticed the smoke rolling out from under the hood. He said it had a wire that had shorted out on part of the engine bay and it got too hot and caught some plastic on fire which made things worse and worse until the whole front of the truck was donezo...

BTW, the mechanics said that it was the ignition coil that started the fire.

Good thing you didn't have (or at least the insurance company didn't find out you had) a grill block because that would have given them some wiggle room to get out of paying for it.
