Hi, I am a hypermiler from Green Bay, WI and I have been reading through the great info on this site for months now. I was hypermiling before I found these online forums, and it's uncanny how many of the tricks I have used that others have found to use as well.
My current daily driver is a 2005 Chevy Colorado Xtreme. The truck is a 2 wheel drive, automatic 2.8 liter four cylinder model.
My mod list includes an upper grille block, a Taurus E-Fan, 45PSI in all four tires, exhaust manifold mod, 0w-20 synthetic oil, AC bypass belt, and of course the wonderful ScanGauge II.
In my truck I have been averaging 21MPG city, and have squeezed out 32MPG city (35mph max) with ideal conditions on my 7 mile daily trip to the gym in the past. No traffic with lots of downhill coasting is great for FE.
I am running OE 235mm performance tires, 25lb each OE 18 inch wheels, and a rear end ratio of 3.73. so with some tweaking and new parts I think I could pull 25 average, 35 max city with the truck.
My fun car is a 1990 Nissan 240SX 5 speed hatch. With the weight reduction I have done on the car so far, it weighs in at a sopping wet curb weight of around 2370 pounds. I have lots more weight to reduce as well.
With the 4.08 final drive ratio I turn about 3K rpm's on the highway at 65, so this car isn't ideal for great FE. I do average 20 city 32 highway with this though.
