It is interesting to see how that has evolved, from the old thread here, to the video, and to the current pictures. The video showed rough cuts on the aluminum, but it looks like he at least replaced the rivets with welding and ground down the seams. The only obvious rivets now are on the Kamm-spoiler. This looks like http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ody-26074.html all over again, can we post this on Reddit?

This car is beautiful! Quick! What is its cD? How well would original gearing work?

I assume the top has been chopped? That is a lot of work. Hope he has a roll bar or something inside. The windshield angle looks better than stock. Rear tire fairings look pretty good.

It appears to still have a tailpipe. Possibly a hybrid.

I cannot figure out what that first word is. "Hathaway Ulta Marathons" is not turning up anything. I was hoping that Google would help me find the first name. I really think that he missed the "r" in "ultra."

I did not expect rotating and zooming to do any good, CSI seems to think that you can do that forever, but if the data is not there, you will not find it. Also, shouldn't "marathons" be singular?

How would we not know about some "ultra marathon?!"

I really think that is just a G, not "Ge."

However...

@magicride025 instagram - Magicride - Apparently this custom vehicle gets anywhere from 58-166 MPG... Hmmmm

First word looks like Mustang to me? Or possibly Hertzog?

Anyhow, I generally like the lines...but oh, those headlights. They ruin EVERYTHING for me.

Considering everything else that he has done, wouldn't it be relatively easy to cover them with Lexan? Our users have done much more difficult curves!

I found a few references in another forum and then the last result was: Video I found with a number of posts by someone named "Nerys"

Ah, that thread ended prematurely. I had my hopes up!

Are any of you familiar with this thread? http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ble-22836.html

Metro!

Okay, I just use Google and TinEye to search for every picture that we have and the video.

I cannot find anything.

The two images that I linked earlier:

You know, there is a sign visible in that last image for Joe's Towing Service Bakersfield, CA.

If only we could narrow the area down further than "Northern California!"

Gene Schudlich of Templeton, Calif., drove his "Aero-Geo" 800 miles to the fair, stopping to refuel just once. On his T-shirt was written "134," indicating the miles per gallon his aerodynamically transformed Geo Metro gives him.

He noted that just about anyone can change their car as he did.

Keeping the car's standard engine, he used materials from a salvage yard, including aluminum for the top, to create a lighter, more aerodynamic design.

Great sleuthing, Redneck!

Googling his name popped me up at a results board for an ultra marathon - an actual ultra marathon, running, not driving.

Looks like the radically modified Metro isn't Schudlich's only project. Check out what he did to a VW Caddy pickup - and note that the bed is still full-width all the way:

Now that we know his name, we've got to look this guy up. He could be our modern Xpedro01
