Need to get rid of dead lithium (or any other) batteries?

The question has come up in other threads here and I have a few extra dead lead acid batteries laying around that I'm looking to get rid of (recycle for $). So, I hopped on to Batteries Plus website to see what they'd give me for the batteries (sadly nothing). But, I did notice they also recycle almost any battery type:

Battery Recycling - Recycle Your Battery at Batteries Plus

Battery Type
-Lead acid (Pb) Batteries
-Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) Batteries
-Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries
-Lithium Ion (Li Ion) & Lithium Polymer (Li Poly)

So, no, its not hard to find a place to take your dead lithium or any other form of batteries.

Sadly, they wont pay you for them. Does anyone else know of any places who will?

Scrap yards pay for batteries. lead acid go for about .30/pound right now in wichita, ks. for lithium ion batteries it is .50/ pound unless i ship it to an electronics recycler and they pay me 1.00/pound, but that is only for lithium ion rechargeable batteries

Also interstate battery buys lead acid batteries for competitive prices. they dont pay for any other batteries, but they will take any battery and recycle it for free.
