Yes, I think it is just a "quick" model on that bit. They may have been concentrating on the body?

Curly, the A/C is standard (it IS being sold in CA, after all!). The related option is for the solar PV panel on the roof to ventilate the inside while parked.

I think that the most aerodynamic and efficient vehicle (IF they ever build it!) is worth the $27K or so. You would get a $7.5K tax credit and possibly other credits.

They say that this version improved the drag by ~9% so it is down from 0.15 to ~0.135? It did grow in section area, so hopefully we'll get more details soon enough.

Also, there is a recent picture of a funky mule -- the pregnant belly and scoop above the windshield make me think it is a development prototype of either the hybrid version or the promised gasoline version:

The black bit behind the scoop is a rear view video camera, and the nose looks pretty strange, too...

27K that is kinda high I think. After all there is not much of metal or exotic technology in it. I think that the problem with this kinda of production car is that they aim high and the expectations are high also. They hope people will buy them by the dozen. In reality people like us in ecmodder.com going back and forward end up only reading about them. After all we all talk about FE and spending 27K on something that is not even proven to be worth, that is where the skepticism comes out and we back off. May be the rich will get them and eventually sale them to us.

Just think for a second. I’m a car enthusiast and when back in 2000 I read about the Honda Insight and the 70MPG I was trilled to get one. But after some time I found one in a Honda Dealer and was advertised for $21K. I said to myself “WOW” I like the car, I love the car but baby I won’t spend $21K, for that kinda of investment I would buy a civic basic edition save same money and don’t worry about the batteries, which at the time was $5K/$6K. And again today nine years later they are way more affordable but unfortunately Honda did not sale many of Insights. So you get one of this but parts are way too expensive for FE car. EGR Valve $167, Oxygen Sensor $200, LRR tires four for $400, Clutch min $300, BATT replacement with aftermarket ones min $750. So one replacement of each of this parts is $2K with out the labor, tax and nerves. Just check the Zombie Project Insight tread the guy started with $2000 salvage insight end up spending close to $5000 in total for parts and parts.

You want the latest and greatest cool/fun stuff? Ya gotta pay. Simple as that. Once it goes mainstream, its cheap and everyone has one. Thats the wonder that is mass production, and the Aptera will not be mass produced. I think 27k is a great price for what you get.

Maybe GM will use some of its govt. money to buy Aptera, with promises to turn them out in huge numbers.

But, in typical GM fashion, it would quickly shut Aptera down. GM is the place where good ideas go to die.

Nah, they'd just lease them out to movie stars, then recall them and crush 'em.
