new commuter 1995 Nissan 200SX (Killed the Prius)

hello all,

I finally killed my 2001 prius (she is now in a better place)
MG2 (Stator) was burnt up, and she left me stuck on the side of the road
one day before sending her to the scrapper, I got a call from my Craigslist Add, a guy from 400 miles away (in a hybrid repair class) contacted me and came and got the car
it's now back on the road, and serving as an example of his new business plan

as for the new commuter

she's a 1995 Nissan Sentra 200SX SE GA16DE 5sp (1.6 DOHC)

Nissan Lucino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Between 1995 and 1998, Nissan retailed the Lucino coupe as the 200SX in the United States and Canada.

picked her up with a hair over 200K miles
she seems to be a good runner for my 110 mile/day commute

first tank got me about 34mpg (with 17x7" wheels and sporty tires)
2nd tank got me a little less (stock wheels/tires and a can of Chevron Fuel injector cleaner)
3rd tank got more what I've been hoping for @39mpg (tires at 29/30psi, factory tire pressure)
I'm currently on my 4th tank, and I've bumped the tire pressure up to 34psi, (tires say 35psi MAX)

next (hopefully this weekend) I'll check (and probably bump up my timing)
maybe throw in a new Cap/Rotor Spark Plugs/wires while I'm in there

after that, I will consider some (mild) Aero Mods (the car's factory Coefficient of Drag is pretty decent @ .30),
not sure what else to do (this is a complete budget build)

I wanted to go 40,
but these cheepie tires are rated for 35psi MAX
(I've never before seen street tires that said 35, most say 44psi max)

nice ride! I've always like these cars. Looking forward to your build and I'll be following along.

My Forester tires are rated for 36 PSI:

My ex-girlfriend also blew out at least one tire. All that I know is that the spare is unserviceable.

Nice little car! Should end up as an easy, breezy 40+mpg car. The lines on these cars have aged well.

incase anyone cared,

the car treated me pretty well,
developed a chain slap (timing chain tensioner)
ended up throwing the timing chain before I got around to fixing it

the car is dead and gone (about 2 years ago)

How much would it have cost to repair the Prius? Assuming the valves weren't destroyed in the chain slip, it seems you'd only need to replace the chain tensioner and possibly the chain and gear.

I've never done it before, but it at least sounds reasonably straightforward to me.

prius?
that one needed a new stator
dealer wanted a grand to investigate (just to check if it was bad)

the Nissan, the one that broke the chain
it needed a new motor (top end at least)
I scoped one of the holes, it had valve damage
you could hear that it had lost compression
