What I find amazing is that every space shuttle launch had a 1% chance of being fatal. Some astronauts went up multiple times. Can't imagine having that occupation and telling my wife not to worry, because I've got a 99% chance of being alive at the end of the mission.

Lionel [Nation] observed that if you hoard hand sanitizer, it just means the people around you will be less sanitary.

All schools in Arizona are closed through March 27th

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news...rs/5054670002/

People who do not want to deal with their own kids complain about schools shutting down. The kids aren't dying!

What if the teacher gets sick? What if the kids bring home something? What if Grandma picks up Junior and gets sick?

Kids are not known for cleanliness!

Staying home from work? Make sure that our most vulnerable have food!

https://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/find-meals

People keep talking about needing to set up hospital tents for the sick and afflicted. What about all of those closed retailers?

Our K-Mart has been empty for years. There is lots of room in there!

Not fit for purpose.

The Commies found it easiest to just build new. There're considerations for air handling and zoning.

If the military hospitals are rigged for radioactive decontamination, that's good. The sheds that SpaceX uses at Boca Chica go up fast.

edit: Nice skylighting. It gives a good feeling to the space.

The elderly and those with preexisting conditions, obviously.

Quote:
"The superintendent letter asks state lawmakers to:
• Support funding for 180 and 200-day school years, even if schools aren't able to hold school on that many days because of the closures. That would allow schools to continue paying staff members.
• Ensure that paying hourly staff members, which include classroom aides, custodians and bus drivers, is not considered a "gift of public funds" during the closures. School leaders are worried they won't legally be able to pay hourly staff what they normally would if school is shut down.
• Allocate extra funding to pay school employees if the school year has to be extended.
• Consider sending money for schools and community centers to become childcare centers for families during the closures."
Gov. Ducey, Kathy Hoffman: All Arizona schools to close through March 27

So, I may be paid to stay home, and paid to finish the school year when it runs into overtime?

On top of that, if I can do just one make-up when I would be working at the school I come out ahead.

I certainly could use additional funds!
