New forum section

I think we need to separate all the on-going and finished vehicle projects from the rest of the Ecomodder Central and give these their own thread called "Ecobuilds" or Vehicle Projects" or something. This would allow visitors to see all of the upgrades/repairs/mods of different members all in one place. I am not talking about a thread where someone tests cardboard on a fender or grill, but actual builds.

This would also include EV and Motorcycle builds. With all these in one place it would get an amazing amount of views and people could easily see what would work best for them with some experimenting with similar vehicles/mods.

Simple threads like an airdam install, or a underbelly tray would stay in the regular sections, but an actual "Build" or "Project" would be in the seperate section. Any thread that becomes a continuing project can also be moved to the new forum.

What do you think?

Actually, after viewing our current status, it seems the board is looking a little messy and needs cleaned up. Since I posted this topic, I took one of my old "Test Forums" and remade it to look how this board should look as far as categories and ordering goes.

Here is the link to the test board...........
EcoTest

I think this would be a good idea.

Johnny Mullet -

(written before reading your second post)

I think the Garage Car View page could be augmented to act as a project thread lister. For example, when you start a thread, you could have checkbox (for every car in your Garage) that says "add to [car's name] Garage". When you do that, the new thread would be added to a chronological list of threads in the Garage "view" section.

I'm doing that half-hazardly in my Garage/View/Current Mods section right now.

Thumbs up

I think Johnny Mullet has hit on an excellent idea. I can't tell how much time I have spent looking through various topics to find what I had seen before to try to compare that result with something seen elsewhere.

I love the idea, a lot cleaner look and quicker that way. It would be nice to just scan the list of builds and mods separately. It is not too bad right now, but the longer it goes un-attended the worse it will get. This site is still an infant we don't want a raging teenager to attend to.

If this idea were to go through, the mods on some of the other sub-forums that these build threads would be pulled from, could make a sticky post in the old forum to cross-link. (Yeah, I know, I'm suggesting extra work... :P ) That way there'd be a jump from the old locations to the new.
