New guy in town.

Hey guys I've been messing around on the site and decided to make an account and hopefully share some sweet stories and info with everyone. I drive an 81 VW N/A diesel rabbit 4 speed manual, 03 Silverado 4.3 auto trans, and my wife drives a 99 Taurus 12 valve 3.0 auto trans. It will be nice to chat with everyone.

Welcome to the forum.

There aren't many old Rabbits kicking around my town any more. One cabrio (garage kept, summer driving only), and one 4 door, probably around 1984 vintage. I rarely see it driven though, so not sure if it's gas or diesel.

There's always something viable to do with a Rabbit Diesel engine, even when the body doesn't worth to repair. An uncle of mine had a 4-door Suzuki Vitara with the 50hp 1.6L IDI and could get 42MPG daily-driving it. And his driving style is not the best for hypermiling...
