New to Hypermiling

Hello people

i am extremely new to this and just created an account today. I own a 1995 honda civic ex coupe. i just had my engine rebuilt in december and have only put about 6k miles on it since then. when i had it rebuilt i had them put in high compression pistons 12:1 compression ratio, 5 angle valve job, port and polish and had the engine completely blue printed and much more. I recorded my first fuel log today when i came home from visiting my girlfriend in eugene oregon and my question is if anyone has achieved this kind of mileage on an engine with this high of comopression? i also used non ethanol supreme 92 gasoline. my car is also extremely low (stanced) as you can tell in my photo. but i managed to achieve 50.5 mpg on my trip which was better then my dad completely stock 1.5L 8V 1992 honda civic cx hatchback (barely better) lol. thanks for your time

Welcome!

Was that one way or round trip? Depending on cruising speed, I'd say that's entirely possible. Also, lowering often reduces aero drag, and higher compression increases engine efficiency.

Keep logging your results. A pattern will tell you more than a single fill.

It was round trip 207.7 miles and when I filled it was 4.113 gallons. I don't think I will get the same results in the city. But should I log every fuel up or every fuel up I travel to eugene

Log every fill. Then you can see if you are improving and under what driving conditions. If you only log trips it will give skewed and incomplete picture.

Great numbers, wish I could get ahold of some non ethanol gas. Post up some pictures, we love civics here.
