For an update on the message I sent to Eli about the similar issue in the other forum:

"Hmm. In that case, it was the case of a missing fuse - the guy had been trying to troubleshoot himself, and forgot to put it back in. I traced it to the fact that the MCM wasn't being powered, and that thus lead me to the under-dash fuse box. I don't remember which one it was. Maybe just check them all for good measure?

Suppose it could also be the MCM relay?

Maybe the dealership could be onto something, but it's highly suspect that your MCM magically died during the new battery installation....

I checked the battery terminals and the fuses which relay in between the batteries and the MCM. All of them were working. I think the next step is to swap MCMs and see if that solves the issue. Eli will send me a used one so I don't have to go through the dealership.
