New from Las Vegas... CRX Si/VX swap

My name is Bennie, I'm not new to Honda's or high performance, but I commute 100 miles a day and have started a project like no other. I'm building what I call my Prius AND Mustang killer...... meaning I want MPG that will beat a Prius, and quarter mile performance to beat a stock mustang 5.0. I have a 1990 CRX Si and a complete 92 VX swap waiting to go in. After I install the engine and get it working good, I want to turbocharge it with a really small turbo. (and maybe taller final drive?)

Welcome to the forum, Bennie.

You're in good company here, with a bunch of VX swaps into sedans & CRX's. No turbos that I can think of, though.

Looking forward to the project!

If you have an extra $500-$800 laying around, consider swapping in a JDM/EDM D15B 3-stage VTEC motor. These motors combined the lean burn of the VX with the performance of the sohc VTEC motors. 130 hp when you need it, and lean burn during normal driving. It would be cheaper than a turbo setup, and 130 hp in a light CRX would be pretty quick.

4.3 seconds 0-60 mph, 12.7 seconds to do the quarter mile at 111.1 mph.

from 9.4 seconds, and 17 seconds quarter mile seems like a jump.

I was looking at the performance specs online, and this really seems like a challenge. I look forward to following.
