New member with an aero idea

Hi all, ive been thinking how to make my peugeot 106 diesel more areo dynamic. I wanted to fill all the gaps in the bumper and make it smooth. This would be alot of work so got to thinking. Shrink wrap or cling film. If i took the bumper off and wraped it with this and then put it back on it would fill all the holes and should leave a smooth finish?
What you think?

One question...how do you cool your engine when you fill all the gaps in the bumper?

Cheers Owen

welcome Owen

look for Coroplast, but many things will work for it.
shrink wrap, however, chances are not, it simply doesnt have the strength to withstand high winds, along with road clutter/bugs.

as far as cooling the engine, it really depends on average ambient temp's in your area.
many people have found that leaving a section in the lower part of the front end works better for cooling than any other location. you could leave a small section open and raise the rear end of the hood for allow more heated air to escape.

Good thing that you have a diesel. Spend the money and convert your cooling system over to Evans Coolant and you'll never have to worry about a boil over again. Diesels run better at a higher operating temperature, can expect a small increase in mpg.

Id suggest just blocking it all and see if the radiator fan cuts in often when you drive or are in traffic, if it does then open the grille up partially until there is enough airflow to stop the fan cutting in more than usual.

as above then just cut holes in the cling film to your maintain temp.
