I have lurked on this forum for quite awhile in the past, but have not commented based on the fact I had no car.

However, that has changed as I have recently acquired a 1986 Sentra sedan (a vehicle known relatively good millage) and seek ways to improve efficiency.

Welcome to EM.

What a beautiful place to go attend school! When I visited for work recently, I was also very impressed with the number of folks who chose to bike instead of drive (except for the 101 ).

I hope the Sentra works out well. Is it in good running order?

We look forward to your expertise in the engineering field.

Best FE to ya...

The vehicle works fine but it has weird glitches like the speedometer and tach not working. The former not working makes it a bit harder to go 55 on the freeway. I filled up the tank recently and expect to get my first FE reading soon.

Santa Barbara is pretty good for cycling commuting, my other car is a Allez Elite(which is probably worth more than the car).

As for expertise, you might have to wait a year until I take thermo and fluids and what-not

The sentra should return pretty good mileage, gotta get that speedo fixed though!
