New nuclear technology

Quote:
Its power generator is tapping into hydrogen-boron instead of the standard deuterium-tritium fuel. Hydrogen-boron doesn’t generate any radioactive waste, and taps into an unlimited supply of fuel. It also offers the possibility of direct conversion of fusion energy into electricity.
Quote:
Its hydrogen-boron fusion power plants would offer a small unit size, low investment cost, low fuel cost, and a high level of safety. Estimates predict that the DPF technology could reduce the cost of producing electricity by 10 times or more compared to existing conventional and alternative energy technology.

Everything. The one I'm most interested in is the fantastic materials carbon nanotube are supposed to deliver. A cure for Covid?

I'd settle for a cure for the common cold. That reminds me, all our problems are supposed to be solved with CRISPR.

The meaning of 'ultimate' has been perpetually re-defined by BMW each year.

Normally lithium is used to make hydrogen for nuclear fusion. It doesn't leave any radio active byproducts.
The US has plenty of heavy water so we got enough deuterium to last a while if we had nuclear fusion.
But a better use of heavy water is breading fissile fuel from depleted uranium or thorium or just using natural uranium, depleted uranium or thorium as reactor fuel.
