Yes, you should, stoatwblr. It was admirably well phrased and reasoned statement.

The best way to design a serial hybrid like this is to run the generator at full load.

I wonder why, when we know the ideal aero is the Template, why this supposed super aero truck looks so "dirty", why is it not just the front of the template attached to match the trailer?

Because the perfect is the enemy of the just good enough.

Well, that and regulation defining a maximum length width and height. It's the tyranny of the Cartesian coordinate system.

True, but adapt the Template to the max dimension of the trailer, would have to be better than what they have now. I think "Style" is the point of all those attached flow fails.

Just adding this in.

As some have discussed, this is a better application for this technology.

Style is the least of their worries.

Payload is. Efficient packages tend to be boxes. Aerodynamics tend not to be.

I was only referring to the tractor, the trailer remains a "Box". Yes it is taller than it is wide which is not perfect "Template", but this tractor could be a LOT smoother...IMHO.

The aerodynamcs of a box van it different to The Template. There is enough length that turbulence has opportunity to reattach along the way. You don't get the air moving up down and sideways like you do with a shorter body.

A lot of the 'styling' may be corrugations to stiffen a lightweight panel.
