IIRC the Mk.4 was made in Brazil, at least the gasser ones. BTW is yours manual or automatic?

Yes its manual.
I recently integrated cruise control in it.
Lots of parts are made in mexico... Well most of the plastic trims.

IIRC the latest Brazilian-made version of the Golf Mk.4 TDI had a 90hp rating. Not sure if that would please the heavy-footed Americans (or Canadians )
