Not a world record, but certainly MY record...todate.

Got the dashboard MID up to 59.7 MPG the other day during a round trip to the Toyota dealership on the otherside of Tucson and back...34 miles each way combined highway and city driving. Of course, it hasn't stayed at that number since the wife resumed driving the car.

That's pretty good.

I know what you mean about the wife. I could consistently beat 52 or better if Sweetie never took the car.

"Honey please shift!" (completely interrupting a story that has nothing to do with driving)

"What's wrong?" (a little coolly)

"You're cruising at 45 in 3rd! We're on the flat! Shift!"

My wife can usually get close to 90% of what I get, I noticed her coasting to a red light today, timed it perfectly and she is the opposite of an agressive driver.

I Couldn't stand someone else driving my car, if my ex were to drive my current car it would be chaos. Probably wouldn't even get the car started because of my kill switch, would go WOT on an on ramp to get to 80mph... My CRX would not be a happy camper.

I'm sure my wife would match EPA or better in anything, except she seems to love letting her car idle. A couple of days ago I was moving her 2001 LeSabre and checked the gauge for the mpg reading and it was 12.5. The car gets 27 mpg@70 mph but she will sit in the car after work and finish her coffee and let it idle for a half hour... I'm happily married and not about to complain though.

Nah, I was covertly explaining *why* my Prius MPG is ONLY 47.3 mpg...ie: "...don't blame ME..." and obviously others have similar problem (ha,ha)!
