are you also using the default 500usec Injector Settle Time ?

edit: the 1st 3 tanks i've recorded (if SettleTime==0), i've gotten 213,825, 255,132, and 221,861 ms/gal. All at different gas stations. On the 2nd one, the car & gas tank were significantly cooler than #1 and #3, which were filled up immediately after driving 300+ miles in the heat. Hopefully i dont have to burn 10 tanks to get calibrated.

*Finally* got access to the wiring diagrams for my car. A section of the wiring diagram showing the link between the main computer and the injection computer is shown here. The A10 unit is the injection computer as shown by the tooltip. The large blue rectangle at the top is the main computer. There are only 2 wires between the two computers, black/green and blue/red. How can I figure out whether I can use one of those wires for the MPGuino?

The other wires connected to the injection computer are live, ground, spill valve and timing control valve (Y33, visible far right).

Let me clarify my query why I'm focusing on those two wires - the injection computer is built inside the fuel pump, and the metering for the actual injection is done inside the fuel pump decided by the injection computer and the fuel to be injected is "pushed" towards the injector, and the fuel inside the injector is "pushed" out inside the cylinder. There are no wires at all to the injectors themselves. So those 2 wires I'm looking at are the final stages I can access is where the actual instructions to inject are carried. How do I find out whether those two wires are pulsed or are digital communications? How do I find out whether the pulses actually mean "Inject now!" or something else entirely? Or do I need insider knowledge for this? Do I make sense?

dcb, a great idea with the mpguino, thanks for all the effort. Probably the single most useful add-on to my car, I can't imagine driving without it now. Very handy for testing driving styles.

dcb, does the preassembled MPGuino have a socketed Atmega - somebody up here in Canada wants one with my metric version and I use Atmega328. If I can order with Atmega328 pre-installed that would be perfect.

it is socketed, comes with a 168. Retrofitting a 328 and custom programing are sort of an advanced topic, doable but not something I care to mess with right now.
