Ive been a Mazda guy for a long time, which of course instantly makes me a Ford guy as well

I have a 94 protege right now that needs some engine/drivetrain work. but I have quite a few Aero ideas for it, which Im hoping will help me net close to 50mpg.
I also have an MX6 LS that I have some plans for.
in stock condition, my old mx6 LS got 28mpg hwy, if I drove conservatively (not an easy task for me in that car....) I can simply drop a 626 trans in it that should allow me to bump that up to 30mpg due to its taller gearset. along with a couple aero mods I have in mind, Id like to see that climb even higher towards 35mpg. (not holding my breathe on that though...)

hoping to get a protege5 here real soon, or a Mazda 3 hatch (would prefer the MP5 though)
Im pretty sure the 99/2k/2.1k 1.6L is a straight drop in. not sure if how that would work though, considering the weight of the MP5...

Looks like the love child of a CRX and a Stanza.

I'd buy one. Modular is a good thing.
