I would pay to see the impact.

If he was using other peoples money to pay for his rocket, good job. I say if you want to strap your self rocket Wille coyote style you should be able to.

Yeah, but steam powered? There's no science that says it has the power to lift a person 70 miles. It was a stunt and nothing else.

...and you can see/measure the curvature of the earth from any beach.

I believe it was a PR move to generate funds more than a serious attempt at science. Now that sounds like a believable conspiracy theory.

Uhhnn... Wille Coyote...

If was Wille Coyote he would first activate the ejection seater, but it would fail to open pachute, he would then smash in the ground and the rocket body would fall righ over hin.

Anyway it's possible that he builted the rocket using pieces manufactured by Acme Corporation.

Yeah.. And why would hin risk his life instead of use some dummy?

I think people, society in past, had need to believe in something, in the president (JFK) in religion, family, husband, wife.
Today I feel many people have the need to disbelieve something, science, government, husband/wife, kids etc.... Many ones decided to disbelieve man reched Moon or Sphere Earth because the take two things in one shot (of ignorance), Science and Government.

They made me disbelieve in one thing, human rationality. It's more a exception than a rule. Most people just mimics pre programed behavior and ideas. When people who didn't exercise logical thinking start to try to think, they end-up ridiculous, manipulated.

I wouldn't bet against that. Conspiracy theories are like Rule 34, there is probably a conspiracy theory about anything you can imagine.

I think people today have more chance to get money, donations, by saying they runned out of beer, or requesting to a conspiracy theory cause, than by saying they are hungry or ill.

.

He was a Daredevil.

He knew it was risky.

If things went bad and his ticket was getting punched.

He was going to do it on his terms.

Not suffering from failing health and or some dragged out disease.

Waiting for the end to come in a hospital bed or old folks home.

He was living the moment...

Unlike most of us.

One thing is for sure...

He had a set of BIG Balls...
