It won't do 0-60 in 5 seconds (more like 18), not that I care about 0-60, but you had made that a requirement for the hypothetical EV, don't understand why that standard doesn't apply here.

Main reason I bought the City-el was it went 50, accelerates like a "bat" on hills; even though that vehicle was built for 35 top, lower voltage and sluggish acceleration.

For in-town use it is ideal! Pushed to 45 and still climbing- my C-el wobbled with the original tire. This EMC3 has the opposite stance than the C-el (delta- 2 rear, 1 front) so it is just plain built to handle speed to begin with.

And you never know- someone may boost it to make an outstanding EV dragster!

My other EVs are in the 20s or 30s, so the 60 requirement isn't mine The City-el is a targa/convertible but it is a 1 person microcar. The EMC3 makes a lot more useful sense to me!

An 85HP version wouldn't be bad at all. My Tercel has ~80HP, and it weighs 500lbs more than that. I'm not saying Tercels are fast, but with 500lbs less, it would definitely help.

You're talking about 2 different vehicles. I'm looking to have an EV custom built for me as a performance/show car. I found this EMD3 that I'd like to own as a daily driver.

I'm looking for the EV to be a "company car" (see also tax write-off) as well as a mobile billboard for my business. The other is just a personal play car for me and my wife.

Thanks for letting me know of this fascinating vehicle! I received an e-mail yesterday from ECO Motor Company that the EMC3 is planned to begin selling in June in CA. I have all links (main, facebook, twitter) set up.

Although I am very "pro"-EV; I am very pleased with power windows, door locks, steering, brakes; air conditioning that 3 wheeler has (why I keep the Aspire- AC) and distance is like frosting on the cake!

I'm interested as well but I'll be holding out for a turbo version to be released later this year.

If the west coast one is planned for the Moscone Center in San Francisco for the annual show, as I think it was previously, that is not difficult.

The dealer for California (Rancho Mirage I think) is quite a hike! Eventually I will view the EMC3. Looking forward to it!

I'd like to see one but I'm only interested in the turbo model. If it doesn't have a blower on it I'd be wasting both our time.

Any recent news? With C.A.F.E. standards changing, this 60 mpg 3-wheeler is way ahead of the game! Being so close to June and not hearing a thing makes me wonder what is going on- perhaps unnecessarily! I am not being pushy or anything ......
