Yup, sorry about the mountain hick name.
They're also called "fast back" spoilers, although they don't really resemble a true fastback design.
Anyway, the pic conveys my idea... just taper it instead of straight back.

Fit it to the frame and to the bed side, then push on the top corner until you get approx 12*.
Either that, or just angle it in 12* and leave the bedside as a flat plane.
Side flow follows the approximate same rules as top flow, as far as I'm aware, in most situations, so the same basic angles apply. It's the bottom that gets tricky..

They should be,but in a pinch and zero fabrication time, the shelf can approach the performance of the idealized wing.
Also, adding the sail panel sides improves flow.

I'd be reluctant to have anything like the top portion of the pictured unit. It's beautifully constructed, but I suspect that it might aggravate drag.

The red unit has too little wing at top,and sail panels on sides aren't long enough to be really effective, and they have no inward taper.Again, absolutely beautiful execution, but dubious performance.Too bad!

Yeah, well... ya know. Sometimes you have to show something less than useful to convey a point. LOL.
I wonder if one of the LUND visors would work mounted off the back of the cab? That would be an interesting sight...
Something like this:
that normally goes on the brow, except mounted on the aft line of the cab (and those horrible holes filled in.)
Although, it seems like (yet again) too short to really be functional.

Good, cuz I actually have one of those... and it came from a late 80's Ford truck. Perfect for me. Sorry Bow.
