just a pie in the sky thought, was looking at supercaps and realized a boost converter could be very useful.



The case for supercaps (haven't looked at costs or anything):

I found another supplier for inductors.

Traftor Manufacturer of Toroidal Inductors and Toroidal Transformers

This one in particular seems to suit the boost converter quite nicely

250A inductor – TRAFTOR Technology Co., Ltd

their server couldn't take my request for some reason. I would be eternally grateful if you could get a quote for 1, 5, 10, 25 of those little buggers.

I'm mailing out the 1st of the 2 AC controllers tomorrow. It's MLK day today so the post office is closed.

Had the same issue last night. Now I know it's not on my side

If manage to call them tomorrow I let you know. About the same time as now.

The trick to supercaps might be a bar stator.

It will be interesting to see how the AC version stacks up against the DC version.

Regarding the coils subject...

These guys don't have any stock models. What they can do is produce on spec.
I was told to await contact by the person in charge of technical developments regarding this.

Doesn't look very promising, we shall see.
