Magnetos. They can also provide a low voltage source, but are a bit trying to kick start

I had a double stand on my dresser (700+ lbs). Got the bike high enough to use a tranny jack which could lift it to 14" above the floor. On a harley, there's nothing below the frame that requires access.

With bad knees, kick-starting anything can be awful

Actually wasn't thinking of knees, but, getting enough rpm to have the magneto make some sort of spark is really hard for smaller skinny people. I suppose bad knees would make that even worse, depending on how the knee fails. On my harley, it was a locked knee kick after jumping up using the other leg. A backfire could probably break my leg.

I'm not so skinny at all, yet I'm also not fat, but my right leg is quite stunted compared to my left leg, and then even a Honda Cub or equivalent is a PITA for me to kick-start. And my knees make it even worse.
