They maybe are not pretty, but functional :)

I like 'em. Silver painted cars and aluminum mods go well together.

Being devil's advocate for the moment; on the front tires, if you were doing a Left U-Turn and hit a pothole, would you risk lacerating the front driver's-side tire? I ask because it looks sharp and metallic. It looks like a cut edge rather than a round/folded edge.

Hi,

Some more good work -- I like the grill and the radiator duct mods from the other thread, too. Did you add these and test them on their own, or add them all at once? What kind of mileage are you getting?

Now, you just need to add some smooth wheel covers?

They look better than mine! I like the front deflectors - look pretty sharp.

Front wheel skirt is made out of coroplast and aluminum roofing. Egde is smooth and folded almost round. It's hard to see on that picture.

Thanks. Front grill block with hood vents + full bellypan + higher coolant temp 215*F gave me 5 mpg. Wheel skirts + vented rear bumper just 2-3 more mpg. I also removed everything from back area and trunk which really helping me with acceleration. I'm getting about 45-47 mpg at 55-60 mph.
I was thinking about taping my alloy rims with aluminum tape. What do you think about that?

Everyone is keep askin' me what is whole thing about, because they never seen anything like that.

Ok, the devil's (advocate) is in the details, :p . Most excellent execution. The aluminum roofing satisfies aesthetics *and* durability.

Hi,

I think that aluminum/foil tape on the wheels can work. I did a partial job on my front wheels, and it may have helped -- but the smooth wheel covers has helped, for sure.

I've been wanting to do front wheel skirts just like what you've done. And I want to do a more permanent grill block, that forms a more curved "nose" on my xA.

So the wheel skirts have had a noticeable affect on FE and drag? Have you felt longer glides?

I have a Civic too, but it's an 8thgen sedan. Thinking about getting aeromods. In the spring (or, the next time I drive to/from school and it isn't freezing), I'm going to do a big 260 mile test with masking tape mods to make my hubcaps smooth, block the top grille, maybe skirts or miniskirts, and covering up some seams that look obtrusive. Or is that dumb, to use masking tape (which is, after all, designed to come off...)...I just want something very temporary and cheap.

Also, could you explain how you mounted the rear skirts?
