Fanboys can be quite savage, and some of them embrace the EV bandwagon for the bragging rights they believe they're assigned to, as if they were better than anyone else because there is no tailpipe on their rides. Other folks just get fascinated by the hi-tech imagery and marketing surrounding them. Trust me, I used to be more unfavorable to hybrids, but nowadays I don't get mad at Prius fanboys as I still often get at some radical EV fanboys.

I used to be anti leaf. So I poured over the technical specifications.
But 2 places I was wrong. The original batteries actually did a lot better than I thought they would.
The volt and leaf crashed EV resale prices, before 2012 EVs were holding their value like an oil lease.

I'm more unfavorable to some political aspects surrounding the EV fandom than to any specific EV model. Actually I even like the design of some Tesla models. When it comes to the Leaf, the 2nd generation looks nice.

For me it was political and technical.
Still don't care for the political aspects attached to EVs.
So far the worst and really the only technical problem still with the leaf is no actively cooled battery. The resistance based heating works pretty good but it murders range, but that was changed to heatpump in 2013.

Off topic. Can we get back to not talking about politics?

Manufactured consent. It's nothing new.

I am really liking this page https://enq.translatum.gr/wiki/Buckminster_Fuller. It's like small-g gospel:
Quote:
Nature is trying very hard to make us succeed, but nature does not depend on us. We are not the only experiment.

Quite clearly, our task is predominantly metaphysical, for it is how to get all of humanity to educate itself swiftly enough to generate spontaneous social behaviors that will avoid extinction.
Did you know humans are more closely related to dolphins than chimpanzees?
