Nope, not seriously at least. I'm trying to get my parents to be a little more cautious and not warm up the car for ridiculous times etc. They don't really go all out with the techniques and slow acceleration. My friends think its funny that I drive like a old woman and they would never try to improve FE, atleast not yet.

Maybe when gas prices hit them harder they will change.

my dad was doing a 450+ mile commute each week in a duelly turbo diesel F350 getting 15 mpg. He recently bought a 92 civic cx that has been getting 36 mpg. He wants to eco mod it after I've shown him what some of you guys are getting. The car will pay for its self in a year. I've also gotten my mom to drive more consciously. Slowing down earlier for red lights, accelerating lightly, and she's getting about 30 mpg in a 05 toyota avalon xls. which surprisingly has a cd of .29

you know, maybe its just my area but seem to not care about improving there fe, they just want cheeper fuel.... wow, warping the brake rotors so quick, my Trans am has 96,000 and i have lived in some areas with heavy stop and go (fort lauderdale FL) and im still on my factory rotors.... oh well.... anyhow, it seems like the push to have SUV's in my area hasnt slowed down verry much, thats atleast 1/2 of the vehicles at school with 1/4 being big trucks and the last are compact cars.

just my .02

edit:
thought i would add that i am obviously in the 50% with suvs, the only difference being that i dont drive like its a race car (i dont know if my jeep goes over 55 and whats my zero to sixty again? something like 20 seconds lol)

Just me, and my wife. She doesn't get mileage like I do, but her numbers have improved. If I got the ScanGauge, I think her numbers would go through the roof.

I'm visiting New Jersey and I have have observed that there quite a few hybrids here. Maybe they are picking up where the people have to drive a lot (commute from NJ to NY for work) or where the gas prices seem to be higher than the average.
