I don't want to argue but I don't believe they do have different versions of the hybrid synergy drive eCVT.

There is a gen 1 a gen 2 and a gen 3 system.

All versions of each generation are the same across each hybrid application.

I believe one exception to this may be the synergy drive in the hybrid civic.

It makes no difference as far as FWD or AWD/4WD to the original application because all these synergy drive eCVTs are for FWD applications.

A synergy drive in a vehicle with AWD/4WD has a seperate differential motor.

If you want rear wheel drive you could modify one of those motors.

Used hybrid eCVTS and used hybrid components in general are a great source for large powerful electric vehicle equipment.

Where else can you get a 50KW motor for $200-500 dollars?

Here's a neat site: ToyoDIY

You can search by car and then cross reference by part number, for a start 2010 Prius uses a 30900-47060 or 30900-47061 transmission
the 060 crosses to the plug-in Prius
the 061 crosses to the Lexus CT200H (which lists for $3,160.10)
30900-48070 or 30900-48090 Highlanders cross to Lexus RX350H ($4,125.94)
30900‑33011 Hybrid Camry ($4,290.54)
30900‑75040 Lexus HS250H ($3,409.61)
30910‑30020 Lexus GS450H (Lexus list:$16,774.68 dealer price:$5,421.47)
30930‑50050 Lexus LS600H (Lexus list:$38,579.97 dealer price:$7,242.76)
