Of course, you can't really tell whether the center part, the "donut hole"
comes off first, or the cover, I guess that's the "donut," does. Maybe you
just push on the "hole," and the "donut" comes off.

Yeah, that would be fantastic because that solution would be "easy-off" and road worthy.

It seems like the air valve access hole is somewhat larger than necessary to
get an air hose pressed on. Maybe it needs to be that big to get your fingers
around the valve cap.

That's egg-zactly right. If you can't get a good hold on them, the valve caps can fall behind the wheel cover. On
my cheesy wheel covers, my access hole is too small. To solve this problem I made a "magnetic" valve cap using a valve cap with a "nut shape", so it can be removed with a 3/8 socket. The socket is metal and the valve cap is magnetized, so it stays in the socket after I unscrew it.

It's too bad that there isn't more info readily available on these covers.
They have only appeared on a few cars.
I would really, really like to know more about them... $$$

I agree. I want to see INSTALLATION instructions. That would answer all of our questions.
