Yes, the Insight is the Hypermiling Nerd's Ferarri.
But my 2004 Prius was the only automatic car I've had in a long time, and I got a real kick out of driving it. Never thought I'd ever say that about a non-stickshift. But learning how to optimise EV mode and maximizing engine off gliding at city speeds (just by playing the right foot) kept it interesting.
I completely agree with MetroMPG. Every chance I get I've been driving my wife's Prius so I can manipulate it into giving me better MPG's. It's an amazing car.
