Professional EV racing... in France

Until today, I had no idea this existed - a professional ice-rally series using a fleet of custom cars:

Quote:

The eight copies of the Andros Car 03-Evo 2 built by Exagon Engineering held up quite well and put their torquey (147 pound-feet) 90 kW (122 horsepower) Siemens AC motors to good use, rounding the seven different circuits only a couple seconds slower than their long-established gas-powered marquee'd-marque-built cousins.

Some YouTube action.

I'm sure there are a lot of people tha abhor the idea, but I kinda like watching a car race and hearing that electric motor whine instead of screaming loud engines. Sound kinda like the future...

The people who miss the engine roar... I wonder if they also miss the tire squeal too (none on snow/ice!)

Now that's something interesting & new. Though the idea still seems to be in its infancy, it looks like..it's going to have a good future.
