Thanks for the latest vid, Jack. What's the name of those rivet nuts you were working with? I can think of like 10k possible uses for those... I expect that mcmaster.com carries them.

Btw, I haven't read all of you posts, but I'm curious, are you using new batteries, or did you scavenge yours from somewhere? Are you going to use regen?

Yeh the nutserts (also called rivnuts and a few other names) are very useful. Only just discovered them really. I'll be using the new CALB CA180FI cells in this car.

ps , what voltage (rail) are you using for your POT. 3v, 5v or 12v, ?

5v. , that is what i used, and over 7v damages the chip.
and over 5v is max A/D conversion, rate, at 1023 counts

Well I'll probably wet my pants while waiting impatiently for test drive news Meantime I'd like to ask you one of those "frequently asked questions"; is 16 ohm the final value for both turn on and turn off gate resistance?

Also, regarding the arrangement of KiloVac contactors - aren't they supposed to be oriented in one way, i.e. current flows in direction A1-->A2? (datasheet says A1=positive, A2=negative).

Mike

So I had a busy weekend with the yacht. Got the controller mounted above the motor and a 10mm ali plate installed in front of the motor to carry contactors , fuses etc. Now if i can just figure out how to crimp those ampseal pins without a $500 tool .....
