Pushed her over 40mpg w/ Sirius Installation

After installing the Sirius Radio, I've had two fills over 43mpg, pushing my combined to greater than 40mpg.

I don't think it's the aerodynamics of the antenna as much as it is the "pleasant disposition" of the driver and p@ssengers.

I noticed a similar gain from killing a bunch of squeaks in the Golf.
I'm considering adding a little sound deadener to it also, about 87~89db inside now at cruise.

I think maybe you should contact Sirius radio and tell them that there product increases FE. Be sure and ask for a percentage of packages sold.

Well cellphones supposedly cause cancer, so why shouldn't satellite radio increase fuel efficiency?

Just take a really big sample, and randomly pick out a tiny subset of that sample that shows installing Sirius increases FE. Ignore the rest of the data.

Have you noticed any change in fuel efficiency on days where you are wearing a red shirt? I haven't seen any evidence yet that there isn't a link there...

Honestly, I think it's part weather as last weeks averages were about 6 degress higher during drive times, and part switching to synthetic engine oil from dino drum oil. It's funny I used to beg the racing gods for a 40° Low Density Altitude Day so I could run 0w20 synthetic in the Coronet. On the dyno, the engine made about 4% more power (770hp vs. 745HP) as compared to 80° and 10w40 Rotella.

The radio makes the honking from the SUVs go away when I go the speed limit.

I'll do a test between HairNation and the Blues Channel.

That does it. I can't move to Florida, so I'm taking the spare out of the trunk.
