Push'n Air

Hello all, this is my introduction.

I'm an architect but dabble in Industrial design which covers hovercraft, stereo equipment and other interest. I also own a vintage Porsche, it's sort of rough around the edges and even if I get it all fixed up will still be an under $10K car. It's paid for, I love it and take good care of it. The fact that I get 26 mph hwy in a car so fun is a total bonus.

I have been walking to work for about 20 years, which translates into about 5,000 miles a year of driving. This is the biggest thing you can do to save gas, change your lifestyle.

I've been involved in sustainable design back when it was still called New Urbanism. In fact the old neighborhood I grew up in was compact and densely populated enough to give you a choice of either walking or driving to where you wanted to go. As a kid on a bicycle it was close to a perfect scale. This is often the context or background which drives my urban design projects.

I want my next car to be an electric one. I drove an EV-1 around the block once, it was a blast.

Cheers, George/kach22i

Yes, some word play at different levels and layers, which is often how I look at problems.

kach = kachadoorian (my last name)

22 = birthdate

i = me

And like you pointed out sort of matches the famous book and movie title which represents the concept that you have to be crazy to get out of a crazy situation. And aren't we all a little crazy? Or at least a little hypocritical at times and with our reasoning?

Example; when I worked at a large architecture firm about 12 years ago, I told my cube-mate and fellow architect that no two architects can ever seem to agree with each other. Without thinking he said; that's not true at all...................hence proving my point. It was my definition of a catch or kach 22 moment.

No, but I've bookmarked the site and will check it out this weekend.

I've teamed up with a home builder to do some Design-Build together. He has traveled all over the country and built six straw bale homes, and is currently building one outside of Ann Arbor.

We have had a booth at both the Chelsea and Ann Arbor Green Energy fair(s) this spring, but no new projects have come out of it yet. I did up some artwork for our joint flyer, and will post it. We want to do some solar houses, it's been a dream of mine for close to 30 years now. I'm thinking that Michigan is just the wrong state to try this in right now, but doing my best to keep my hopes up.

On the 14th I'm going before a township to present a 50 acre senior village, about a half million square feet of building. I'm not holding my breath over how much work I'll get out of it, but it is a hope in an otherwise dim field.
