That makes perfect sense about Charleston.
The team is supposed to have a GPS tracking feature at their website,so folks can follow their progress. We might be able to glean trip route data from that.
Since they're going for a world record which no one has attempted so far, you'd think that there would be some media interest and coverage.
I think you'd get a big kick out of their car.And I'm pretty sure that AERO CIVIC would blow their minds! They may be unaware that a fringe element actually uses low-drag with daily-driver door-slammers.
I got a really good psychic battery charge meeting the team and experiencing their car.I sure hope things work out on your end if you can take the time to slip away.
Some of the students have already been hired by auto makers in Germany. If they get a glance at AERO CIVIC,I don't think they'll ever quite think about their work the same way.
Your car has changed me,and I've been looking at this stuff since 1974!

Based on the info on their website (Time schedule/Stages - SolarCar - Hochschule Bochum) they are scheduled to leave the USA at Charleston on Mar 21. There is also a GPS tracking link (Current Position of SolarWorld GT - SolarCar - Hochschule Bochum) at that site, but no info on the precise route they are planning to follow or where their stops are other than that they are traveling from Jacksonville, FL to Charleston, SC.

I don't know what this team and their publicity folks are like, but I'm wondering if the Aerocivic might not really be welcome showing up at one of their events since it might steal some of their thunder. Some people are funny that way.

Yeah,I hear what you're saying. When I went to Ft.Worth I made it a point to park way across campus. That day was about them, not me.
There's a strong possibility that everyone on the team already knows about your car, with the internet 'n all.If not I'm sure they will!

I've made four attempts to do images today and keep getting the same error message.I may have maxed out my allotment for image files.Don't know.We checked the file size and they are within limits so I give up for now.
I'd planned on posting the photos today but won't attempt it 'til I can figure out what's going on.
Hurry up and wait!

Phil, you can use a 3rd party photo hosting site like Photobucket or Image Shack and then post the links here. Then the sizes can be as big as you want.

I think they might have enjoyed seeing what people are doing out in the real world! Their car is very impressive, no matter what it is parked near.

Looking forward to see your photos!

Thanks Neil! I did join photobucket and managed to get two template images uploaded.I don't know how to email them or link them to a particular thread, and there are no tutorials at photobucket. They must presume that paleolithic creatures as myself somehow know what to do!

okay dokay

Some of the members caught my fumblings over at the 'Template' thread and walked me through linking from Photobucket.
The store here closes in 13 minutes and Al's pretty busy so I'll try for next Saturday to post photos.

Someone on the Aptera forum got to see the car when it was in Tallahassee FL today:

Q:What is this car? A: SolarWorld GT - Page 5 - ApteraForum.com - Unofficial Aptera Car Forum

He posted some data, and info, with a video (and pictures?) to follow.
