What about just high speed testing and watching the dust/dirt go around the car?

..to get enough dirt in th air to make the back-end eddys visible, means a LOT of damage to the front-end paint!

...ie: Arizona and California (San Gregornio Pass near Indio!) sand storms!

...water is much easier on paint than sand or dust, smoke, etc.

This seems odd to me. I drive on dirt roads all the time, and the front of all my vehicles is still painted, yet you can watch the vortices behind my vehicle as I drive...

Of course, one could reason that I'm not kicking up the dust before the car, only under it, which is normally true, but when you follow someone else up said roads (they're considered normal routes around here), you kind of get stuck "eating their dust", as it were.
