I don't think they know about the importance of radius corners.

They have deflection planes down though.

This has got to add drag?

2017-2018 Honda Civic Type R Turbo Review of Specs / R&D / Development + More!

For more context, additional images in the link.

At one time I did some sketches on something similar. Intent was to control or direct the vortexes until another aero-device could swat it down.

The white and red cars in the link have a wing in the wake.

Partial rooftop fences to kill lift if it goes sideways, that move the Cp back (tailfins), and manage airflow into the wing? No added frontal area. What's not to like?

The difusser appears to be an example of a high-momentum mudflap as called out here:

A joyful video to watch, the announcer starts out with "it's not exactly streamlined is it?"................

I like the boatail myself but it is a mess with that flat windshield and those exposed wheels.

Someone with a tall bike wants to set a speed record behind that pace car?

It might rotate at speed and end up sliding down the road on it's butt.

That Smart has a hitch. I bet this is indeed done for aerodynamic purposes.
It is tall and narrow, so the trailer should be too. Horse box?

The exhaust pipes are wasteful though. Not even functional.
