Razzi body kits

Will a body kit help with aerodynamics on a 2009 ford ranger sport. I just put a tonnel cover on and a scan gauge and see an a gain in mpg here in NS in winter with snow tires.
I may design my own body kit as I build fiberglass trike bodies for the Burgman 650 trike.

there are several trucks on here that have done front spoilers and seen improvement.
You will never get the return on your $$$ with a name brand body kit.
Look thru the threads and see the results.

Several here have made front lips from lawn edging. It is barely noticeable and works well.

Diverting air around the vehicle instead of underneath will help your fuel economy, but you won't save money if the air dam is expensive.

Edit: If you're talking about this one I doubt it would do much good.

My favorite air dam kit is to get some black plastic garden edging and some oval head sheet metal screws. Stainless steel #8 x 1/2 work fine. Decide how much ground clearance your vehicle needs.

Do you mean a link to my trike bodies. I have not done anything with a body kit, just thinking, but it would have to look like a factory job if I build it. That's why I was thinking of a body kit, cheaper to buy than to build . I may get a body kit and modify it by adding to it, will give me a starting point.

I have a body kit on my Infiniti Q45. It's by IMPUL. It drops the line 2 inches all around. But I got it because I wanted it and befor I became an eco-modder.
With that said, I do think the kit helped w/ my mileage prior to going Eco Mod because I was getting 25-26mpg on the freeway and the epa is 22.
The other advantage was it made doing underpanels easier because the 2" lower cleared EVERYTHING under the car!


I think there have been discussions about needing to be 'so close' to the ground to have an effect.
Also I had lowered the front end this last year 1.25" and got some mpg gain there. Not sure if you would get any gain on a pickup truck with that.

I recall someone saying 5" ground clearance is optimal.

And perhaps post a picture of your truck and the body kit you are thinking of.

that sounds right, only because when I measured the bottom of my front bumper it sa just a 5" and I thught great!
