Reasonable MPG gauge for '96 Silverado?

I have a '96 Silverado and would like to get an MPG gauge for it. However costs are too high for a Scangauge @ $142 discounted, and nearly everything else specifies 2003 or newer.

The '96 is OBD2, and works fine with my hand held diagnostic gauge.

Any suggestions?

People who have smart phones suggest the Torque app. And, I presume, a CANbus dongle.

Thanks freebeard. That sounds good.

I've just ordered the iCar Pro Mini OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner as a dongle. I have a few unused cellphones I can try it with.
