Diesel is 1.4990 / L here, that's 5.674 /L or 7.559 $/gal .
Prices were supposed to come down a fair bit on Friday, but now it looks like they won't.
Instead we might get a small decrease next Tuesday.

250 USD/barrel is peanuts, the US military is paying 400 USD/gallon in Afghanistan.

New fuel taxes were applied in Finland today:
Average prices now:
Gasoline
95 = 1.555 /litre ($7.65 / US gallon)
98 = 1.601 /litre ($7.87 / US gallon)
Diesel
1.519 /litre ($7.47 / US gal)
Diesel was raised 12.98 euro cents / litre
Gives a plenty of new motivation for ecodriving...

My lowest recent price was$3.209, and we filled my spouse's car at $3.199. My most recent was $3.229 and the same station was up to $3.249 about a day later.
We have hit some sort of bottom, it seems? The sabre rattling over the Strait of Hormuz is going to have some effect.

Yeah, about the same here. I think $3.30 at the cheap place. People have gotten used to thinking ballpark $3.50/gal as "normal", so time for another shock to send it to the $4.50-$5 range, after which it will decline a bit 'til people accept $4 as "normal", and will keep on filling their guzzlers at that price.

Which goes a long way towards explaining this article I ran across the other day: Why the Military Hates Fossil Fuels - Forbes

A strange thing has happened in the politicization of climate change: Oil has become something conservatives must love, while things like energy efficiency and renewable energy have become stand-ins for liberal politics, government intervention, taxes, take your pick. So it is that people are always surprised to learn that one of the biggest proponents of green technology in the United States is that most conservative of organizations, the U.S. military...
