I appreciate the bantering on here as long as it doesn't come to blows! (lol!)
I think that there are plenty of people on this forum that wear their T-shirts, so to speak; in many DIFFERENT shades of green.
I will be the first to say that God entrusted mankind to take charge over the day to day "running" of the earth; and I don't think its a stretch to say that man has done a very ^rappy job of it!
But with that being said, there needs to be the proverbial common sense meeting in the middle.
I don't worship trees and rocks. In the future, the government will want us to move out of scenic areas, as we ruin it: purposeful (to them) plans are well under way to de-populate the planet! The green movement makes their ultiment goals easier to achieve!
Green is fine to a point before it becomes a Nazi like thing.
Yes; cars before the mid-70's polluted too much! But that has been well taken care of. It ticks me off that it seems nearly all of the hate is directed towards autos.
Yes, there have been some inroads toward cleaning up factories, and such; but there are too many double standards, follow the money trails in any big industry, and you'll find the I'll scratch your back if you do mine 1st mentality.
The USA is screwed when it comes to future Carbon credits. 1984 is just a little late getting here; that's all!
Thanks for letting me share! It's good to get it off my chest.

My belief system is slightly different - we weren't "appointed", we kind of created the position and then took it on - and still do it badly.

Let's not forget who propped up Saddam in the first place when discussing what is beyond reprehensible. (Not to mention pretty much all of the non-democratic rulers in the region)

Two commercials for ÖBB - Austrian Federal Railways:
The message at the end can be translated as "Frighteningly high petrol prices?"

Gasoline prices are still dropping here -- I think $3.289/gallon is about average?

Cheapest Petrol here is still £1.29 a litre.
Which is around $7 a (US aka "wimpy") gallon.
Oil prices have dropped, pump prices not so much. uk.gov has decided not to raise fuel tax in January though which is probably wise...

$1.03/L, $3.89/US gal, $4.68/imp gal
fuel cost is still only $0.049/km or $0.078/mile
Remind me again when the price goes up at least an order of magnitude.
