After getting caught going 77 in a 35 and getting a nice officer who recorded it as 45 if I promised to not do it again (being nice to a 16 year old? wow), I have decided to change.

So here I am.

I drive a 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT, and love driving manual .

I've kept records from day 1 of having this car when I turned 16 (now 17), and I've calculated myself as averaging around the EPA FE. Not sufficient.

I just ordered an SGII from Amazon (Hooray 10% off + free 2-day shipping) and can't wait to use it.

Welcome to EM! Yeah, you definitely got lucky. When I was 18 I tried to escape a speeding ticket by outrunning a cop in my Dad's VW Karmann Ghia (62 HP getaway car, ha ha). While he was cutting me a break he changed the subject and told me who really wanted to arrest, a guy in a Corvette in Palos Verdes that was taunting him no end. I think he was channeling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.

Your 1st gen Vibe is the bee's knees!

Welcome, Audioslave!
I see you have already found our little Vibe/Matrix social group.
Good move on getting the SGII. Life on EcoModder begins with a SG purchase, it seems...

Yeah I remember always trying to be 10-20MPH above the limit and scanning for cops on the interstate. At the time getting their as quick as I could felt like a challenge. Now I set the cruise at 55 and really don't notice the time difference, I don't know why I always used to be in a hurry just so I could lounge around inside the house. I still enjoy spirited driving on country roads, but driving for FE accomodates that, pulsing as fast as you can (sometimes over the limit) and going as fast as your tires will allow in neutral around an off camber, downhill turn == awesome AND economical (and just as potentially deadly) :-).
